Put the Jingle Back into Your Dating Jangle

This is a conversation that is had among many on a monthly, if not weekly, basis.  For some, it’s a matter of how much they can afford to spend on date night.  Others are simply running out of ideas to keep the romance alive with their partners.  Then there are those who are trying to make a great, lasting impression on the one they are dating or want to date.  Here is the good news—it’s exactly the time of year to really “wow” that special someone with a fun and romantic date.  So, what should you do or where should you go?  Take a peek at the following ideas!

If your girlfriend or boyfriend is wanting to try something active, take them ice skating! There are afew places right here in greater Atlanta, including The Battery in Smyrna, the rooftop of Ponce City Market in Atlanta, The Marietta Ice Rink in Marietta, Center Ice Arena in Sandy Springs, and The Ice Forum located in Kennesaw, anticipating couples looking for a fun time.  What better excuse is there to hold your date’s hand than while trying to skate across ice without toppling over?  Even if you end up finishing early, a couple of these locations offer other activities, giving you both the opportunity to discuss with your skating talents—or lack thereof.

For the date who is more visual, go see Christmas lights!  Life University in Marietta puts on a great light show each year and you have the option to drive or walk through the campus while admiring every display.  There are also concessions (a plus), as well as a petting zoo.  However, if you both would rather stay closer to home, neighborhood lights are just as fun! It’s always interesting to see what people set up every year, especially when the lights coordinate with a music station or you have wacky, fun neighbors.  So grab a coffee or hot tea from your favorite place and take your loved one to see what beautiful lights your town has to offer!

Now, if your special someone is all about the holiday season, create a date centered around the festivities.  Bake cookies, decorate the house, watch holiday movies—do all of the holiday things!  It makes all the difference in the world when you take the time to recognize your loved one’s passion or interests and coordinate them in a way that shows how much you care.  So, if your loved one goes all out this time of year, go all out, too!

And what if you’re not ready for a one-on-one date?  Or what if you both want to see a few friends on your regular date night?  This season is great for bonfires and fire pits.  Get a group together and stoke up a fire to roast marshmallows for s’mores.  Have someone bring an insulated canister full of hot cocoa, another bring music, and you’re set with an evening that’s filled with good company and relaxation.  Plus, who doesn’t want to snuggle up next to a cozy fire and unwind after a long day?
